Experienced Dog Trainer
At Bowland K9 Training, I offer personalised 1-on-1 training sessions that cover all aspects of dog behaviour and obedience. With a lifelong experience of owning and training dogs, I made the decision in 2020 to pursue a career change and share my expertise as a dog trainer. My ultimate goal is to help dog owners develop the best possible relationship with their pets, ensuring that dogs receive the attention they need and become the main focus of their owners. By tailoring training methods to suit each unique dog, I can address a wide range of behavioural issues and assist owners in building a strong bond with their dogs. Whether it's teaching basic obedience commands or tackling more complex behavioural problems, my dedication lies in helping dogs and their owners achieve a harmonious and fulfilling partnership.
On a personal note, I am the proud owner of three dogs: Ash, my Border Collie, who is highly determined and excels in obedience; Kane, my faithful Labrador, who will do anything for a treat and is an exceptional retriever; and Fred, my Belgian Malinois, who is mischievous but also loves training and bite work. These dogs not only bring immense joy to my life but also serve as invaluable teaching tools. It has been proven that dogs learn more effectively from their own kind than from humans, making them an integral part of my training approach.
Qualifications and Accreditation
I have achieved Level 4 Diploma in Canine Welfare, Training and Behaviour which is an OFQUAL recognised qualification. I believe in continuous improvement and study to ensure I am up to date with current training methods. My next aim is to achieve my level 5 Advanced Diploma Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine) qualification.
I am a Guild of Dog Trainers Professional Dog Training Instructor and am an RCDTBP Signatory and adhere to the CAWC Code of practice - https://www.reg-council-dtbp.uk/for-the-public.html

Facilities
As a 5* licenced home boarding facility I am fully insured to offer residential training and day care to customers who feel their dog requires some extra attention. Licenced by North Yorkshire Council - C23/01283/ANBRDH
Bowland K9 Training has access to a secure 3.6-acre field, which is utilised for various training activities such as recall training, sheep dog training, and counter conditioning to prevent dogs from chasing sheep and other livestock.
Bowland K9 Training Club organises workshops at this location.
